Monteval

Monteval is not a furniture brand. Erik Pirker builds limited-edition design furniture, root-wood objects and sculptures in which the joinery stays visible instead of being hidden. The task was a triple distinction: not a furniture store, not a workshop, not an artist portfolio. A gallery.
A new brand with no existing presence and a range that is hard to categorise: series of 25 numbered pieces next to true one-offs. Buyers of such objects do not justify a price, they decide. So the site did not have to convince, it had to show a stance.
Nine routes with a gallery, filtering and work detail pages, plus a completely rewritten copy deck. Visually: warm cream surfaces against dark contrast bands, a fine hairline grid, grain across every section and two-tone headlines. Technically everything runs on Astro with Sanity as the editorial system, motion runs on motion.dev.
A site that reads more like an exhibition catalogue than a shop. Erik maintains works, images and texts himself through Sanity, and every change rebuilds the site automatically. Live since September 2026.
